These vending machines offer good works

Posted by | Catholic Charities Communications

The local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has chosen Catholic Charities of Oregon as one of the beneficiaries of this year’s holiday Light the World Giving Machines in Oregon.

The machines, in operation Dec. 19-Jan. 7, are located near the entry to the Cheesecake Factory at Washington Square Mall – 9585 SW Washington Square Rd, Portland, OR 97223.

The big red gizmos look like vending machines. Donors can pick from a selection of cards that signify social services done globally and locally. Catholic Charities cards will include a refugee food basket, a month’s supply of diapers, slippers and robes for seniors and other items.

It will take only a minute for shoppers to make an important contribution to a better world.

Giving Machines like this are in place at Washington Square Mall. Catholic Charities of Oregon is one of the beneficiaries.
