At Catholic Charities of Oregon, our work is rooted in Catholic Social Teaching—a tradition that calls us to uphold the dignity of every person, care for our neighbors, and work toward a more just and compassionate world.

You do not have to be Catholic—or religious at all—to receive services, volunteer, or be part of our community. We welcome and serve people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities.

Our commitment is simple. We meet people where they are, with respect, compassion, and without judgment.

What Guides Our Work

Catholic Social Teaching shapes everything we do. It calls us to:

  • Honor the dignity of every person

  • Care for those most in need

  • Support families and communities

  • Promote justice and opportunity for all

  • Act with compassion and respect

These values show up every day in how we serve, advocate, and build community across Oregon.

How We Put Values Into Action

We believe meaningful change happens in two ways, by meeting immediate needs and by working toward long-term solutions.

Direct Service

We respond to urgent needs with compassion and care, helping people access food, housing support, resources, and stability during difficult times. This is often the first step toward something more lasting.

Advocacy and Systemic Change

We also work to address the root causes of poverty and instability. That means advocating for policies, systems, and community conditions that allow people not just to get by, but to thrive.

A Place for Everyone

Catholic Charities of Oregon is a place where people come together to seek help, to offer it, and to build something better together.

However you arrive here, you belong.
