OPB: Oregon refugee office’s first director talks about goals for new agency

Toc Soneoulay-Gillespi, has been appointed Director of Oregon’s Office of Immigrant and Refugee Advancement.

Soneoulay-Gillespi shares with OPB about the new office, who it serves, and what this development means for the state of Oregon.

Toc Soneoulay-Gillespi came to the United States as a refugee with her family 40 years ago. She went on to work with Catholic Charities as the former Director of Refugee Services and most recently she served as the director of community health for the state’s largest coordinated care organization.
