Please join us to support our local Zomi brothers and sisters and those who are suffering horrific violence in Myanmar.

The Zomi community—a predominantly Christian society that has endured years of religious and political persecution and poverty—has suffered increased violence and oppression since the military junta in Myanmar staged a coup d’etat on February 1, 2021. Tragically, children and youth have been disproportionately attacked and killed.

In response to the violence, Catholic Charities of Oregon and the Zomi Catholic Community Portland (ZCCP) will host a multi-faith prayer service where leaders from the Catholic, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, and other Christian denominations, members of other refugee communities, state senators, and local representatives will come together in solidarity with our Zomi brothers and sisters.

No need to RSVP. Simply join us on the front lawn of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Portland for an afternoon of compassion and support.
