In September, we asked for your help, and you answered! What began as an urgent appeal to keep critical programs afloat has turned into a powerful reminder of what this community can do together.

This fall, Catholic Charities of Oregon set out with an ambitious goal: to raise $1 million through our Emergency Appeal.
We’re thrilled — and deeply grateful — to share that we did it.
Because of your generosity, we’ve been able to keep critical programs operating, programs that directly change and stabilize lives every single day.
You Helped Keep the Lights On for Those Who Need It Most
Your compassion means our Housing Transitions Program (HTP) can continue serving women over 25 who are experiencing homelessness. Many of them are survivors of trauma or domestic violence, living without the safety net of family or children.
In this space, women find warm meals, access to showers, computer time, connections to vital services and a place to simply breathe. HTP is a refuge from the constant stress of survival. Because of you, we can continue to provide that space of dignity and hope.
You Sustained Support for Refugees Building New Lives
Your gifts have also helped us continue refugee case management, ensuring that those fleeing violence and persecution can live in Oregon with the support they need.
Our case managers help families and individuals access health care, job training, English language classes and public benefits, while providing ongoing psycho-social support as they navigate cultural adjustment and healing from trauma. Your support has allowed that lifeline to remain unbroken.
You Strengthened Legal Access and Justice for Immigrants
In a time of growing uncertainty and fear for immigrant communities, your generosity has helped sustain our Immigration Legal Services (ILS) program, which provides low-cost legal consultations and representation to immigrants and refugees throughout Oregon and southwest Washington.
Beyond direct legal services, ILS works to educate the public, immigrant communities and the organizations that serve them, promoting justice for all newcomers and advocating for a society where every person can fully participate and belong.
Grateful. But Not Done Yet
While we celebrate this milestone, we also need to be honest: we’re not out of the woods yet.
Like so many nonprofits, Catholic Charities is facing reduced or eliminated funding at nearly every level of government, along with intense competition for limited grant dollars. We’ve made tough decisions, found creative new partnerships and are working harder than ever to do more with less.
Even so, we remain hopeful — and profoundly grateful. Every dollar, every prayer, every shared post, every kind word of encouragement has helped keep our mission alive.
Our work continues. The need continues. And together, hope continues. Thank you for believing in us, for standing with us and for making this moment possible.
If you’d like to help us build on this momentum and continue serving Oregon’s most vulnerable, please consider a gift.
