Elizabeth House

Elizabeth House is a residential maternity home serving young women between the ages of fourteen and twenty-two. Young women enter the program during pregnancy and may stay from three to six months following the birth of their children.

The program, staffed by a resident Housemother and a part-time Social Worker, offers comprehensive and coordinated services, with an emphasis on educational achievement, enhanced personal relationship skills, parenting education and preparedness for independent living. To ensure a smooth and successful transition at the end of their stay at Elizabeth House, the program provides residents with assistance in moving into permanent housing and six to twelve months of aftercare, including information and referral, advocacy and home visit services.

Elizabeth House is located in a lovely home in Southeast Portland. We are able to serve three young women and their babies at one time. We maintain a waiting list when there is a reasonable expectation of an opening within ninety days.
