Molly’s Fund Fighting Lupus' mission is to educate the public and the medical community about lupus, to push for earlier, life-saving diagnoses for those afflicted, and to spur governments and foundations to fund research toward a cure.
Lupus is a chronic disease causing the immune system to attack tissues and organs of the body. For many of those affected, it is a condition they must learn to live with long-term. It may have serious effects on their ability to find and keep employment, maintain their financial position, enjoy a normal family life, and retain health insurance.
Catholic Charities administers a patient assistance fund on behalf of Molly’s Fund that offers grants to eligible individuals to help them cope. Anyone who is living with lupus in the Northwest may apply for financial assistance. Additionally, access to Catholic Charities’ range of social service programs is available to those receiving help from Molly’s Fund Patient Assistance. More information about these programs can be found on this website.
